WW Week 3

This week: Eating smaller portions has become MUCH easier than I thought ever possible! Before, I could eat a larger order of Pasta Fresca (from Noodles & Co.), plus a roll with butter, plus 6 pot stickers. Now, I can only eat half of small order plus 3 pot stickers! It's great! I'm hoping to be under 300 (FOR GOOD!) in 2 more weeks. I never want to be this heavy ever.

The Day That Went... Wrong.

Usually Tuesdays aren't so bad, but yesterday was everything I didn't want it to be.

Starting the day was going 'ok' as I was fussing with my hair in all its frizzy-ness. I had lunch plans with a friend that I was looking to so much. Got a text.. she isn't feeling well and we'll have to get together another day. Well, there's not much you can do about something like that...

SO

I figured Rob, Daisy Roo, and I should go to the grasslands preserve for a 2.5 mile walk/jog. Started off pretty good, even with the strong cool winds pushing against us. Kept on going (in my Vibram FiveFingers!) and got to chat with Rob like the good 'ol days. Daisy was having a blast and all was good in our world. Until we were getting close to the end of our loop. I saw something on Daisy Roo's leg and stopped to investigate. IT WAS A TICK.

I realize that doesn't sound that bad, but being the first time I've ever seen one on my dog, trying to suck her blood, I freaked out. So, we got that one off easy, only to find that there were 4 more on that same leg. Cue me wanting to get them off ASAP. We made it back to the car and while still on the sidewalk proceeded to de-tick our baby.

In total we found 14 ticks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thankfully none had been successful in latching on (thank you flea & tick preventative). Got home quick, ran to Petsmart for some flea & tick shampoo, then off to the bath tub for a fun 10 mins washing. Later that night I was still paranoid about the ticks, so I had Rob check just once more just to be sure. He found another one. UGH.

Needless to say, I won't be going to preserves any time soon. I only wish now that I could stop freaking out every time I feel an itch!

WW Week 2

This week: Cravings have been teasing me a lot, but I've held my ground pretty much every time. A couple times I saved points for ice cream- don't know if I should be doing that. I realized that I need a larger variety of snacks.

Had a difficult week. It was really hard to not eat ALL the time. But I hung in there, didn't ever go over my points for the week and it paid off pretty well. Lost 7.6 lbs this week! Sweet!!

Joel McHale Live

Last night Rob and I went to Chicago to see the comic/TV star Joel McHale! If you don't already know who Joel is, well then you don't watch "The Soup" or "Community" because he stars on both shows.

*Side story*It was the only the 2nd live show we've ever paid to see and the first (Jim Gaffigan) was rather disapointing since he was only on stage for like 50 mins when our train ride (one way) was an hour itself. Rob and I decided to drive down to the city- which is extremely scary for us- to cut down on train/wait time.*

We didn't know who was going to open for him, so it was a BIG surprise for us when Joel announced it was Donald Glover- he plays Troy on "Community." Donald was pretty nervous, but he was overall pretty funny, and even when his jokes weren't hilarious- I was too star struck to care.

Joel was announced after Donald's 20 minute opening routine was complete, and he stayed on stage for just under 90 mins! It made the stressful drive totally worth it! He was extremely funny, and the majority of his material was new (unlike Gaffigan) with some little bits from "The Soup" added in. I was also surprised because he did a lot of improv- especially when it came to the super fake-tanned lady in the front row. She got ragged on pretty good at times- and he kept making jokes about her throughout the show (like she was from Jersey.. or that she was Snooki's grandma). I don't laugh out loud at many things, even when they are pretty funny, but he had me cracking up almost the entire length of the show.

Oh, I almost forgot to mention that about half way through the show he said there was a celebrity in the audience.. and that the actor was also from "Community." It was Danny Pudi.. aka Abed!! He was in the 20th row (which Joel mocked him for) and Joel had him come on stage with Donald to perform Troy & Abed's funny Spanish rap from "Community." Then the 3 of them danced crunk danced to a John Mayer slow song as a tribute to Mother's Day. It was great! If and when Joel comes back to Chicago I will not miss him!

Here is the video of them (not mine) from youtube from my show:

Weight Watchers- Week 0

Well, I'm on a new path. Hopefully one that will get me to a healthier me. On Monday I went to a Weight Watchers meeting with my friend "N." New habits need to be in my life now because I do not want to have health problems in the future.

I am so lucky to have such a supportive husband. He doesn't really need to lose any weight, but he has pledged to help me stick with the program so that I can be successful. His part time job has him up at 3am most mornings, but he insisted that we go to Target tonight and figure out better foods that will help fill me up within my point allotment. Although I have my friend "N" doing WW with me and my husband helping at home with the semantics, I am still worried that I will not be able to resist temptations when it comes to sweets. Today was the first day of actually counting points, and I have to say- it was difficult. I know I have bad eating habits, and I want to change them, but it's going to be a long road for me.
